Help Us Update The Ken Kerry Manual!

The California State University Sacramento (CSUS), Pretreatment Facility Inspection (PFI) Manual, more fondly known as the Ken Kerri Manual, is currently undergoing a complete overhaul. The last full update of the manual was in 1996, making the material 21 years old. CSUS’ mission for this project is to provide accurate, affordable, and relevant information to the drinking water and wastewater industries.

The CSUS Office of Water Program (OWP) has asked the P3S committee to participate in the PFI Manual update. Our P3S Committee Past Chair, Shannon Simmers, is leading the PFI Manual Update Technical Review Committee (TRC). The TRC will be reviewing the PFI Manual to provide recommendation CSUS on what information in the current issue is out of date, irrelevant or in need of editing. Additionally, the TRC will be providing feedback and recommendations on new, or revised, content. The project is scheduled to for completion by summer 2019.

The TRC is asking for P3S community input to ensure this manual contains up-to-date and relevant information so that it can continue to be used for years to come as the go-2-manual for both new and seasoned inspectors alike! High resolution photos, forms and graphs that pertain to the content of the manual are also being solicited. Please send any suggestions, comments or other relevant information to [email protected] or call Shannon Simmers at 951-956-8398.
